United Way supports a healthy start for all kids, early literacy, enrichment programs for at-risk youth, and programs that help kids reaching academic and social/emotional benchmarks and graduate from high school with a plan for their future career or education.
Faribault Public Schools Community Education
Faribault Adult Education provides adults with opportunities to acquire and improve the literacy skills needed to become self-sufficient and to participate effectively as productive workers, family members and citizens.
Dolly Parton's Imagination Library
Promoting early childhood pre-literacy and literacy by sending a free, age-appropriate book each month to children from infancy to age five in the Rice County area. Now serving 1300 children!
Healthy Community Initiative
Serving as a backbone organization for youth and family efforts in the Rice County area and striving to identify needs for youth and families in the community, build coalitions to develop and run programs, and write and manage large collaborative grants to bring additional resources into the community.
Northfield Union of Youth
Connecting youth to each other, caring adults and the community, with a focus on providing a safe and nurturing space and services for Northfield’s most at-risk and disenfranchised youth.
PRIMEtime
Providing low-income and at-risk Northfield-area children with free mentoring, tutoring, skill-building workshops and cultural enrichment programs after school and over the summer.
Project Friendship
Pairing more than 130 Northfield-area youth in grades 2-7 with college-age mentors who work to instill confidence, cultivate positive self-esteem and provide guidance to their mentees in making healthy life choices.
Minnesota Reading Corps
Supporting AmeriCorps volunteers in several area schools, Reading Corps applies the science of how children learn to read to help struggling K-3 students become confident readers.
Supply Our Children
A small, grassroots, volunteer-supported committee providing free backpacks and school supplies to 1,200+ in-need Faribault youth in grades K-12 every year.
TORCH
Providing academic assistance, college and career advising, and social-emotional support to over 600 Northfield Public Schools students and graduates who identify as low-income, first-generation and/or students of color.
Tri-City United Schools Community Education
For scholarships to provide more families with the opportunity to send their children ages 3+ to TCU’s Little Titans school readiness program serving the Montgomery-Lonsdale-LeCenter area.
