Rice County Area United Way (RCAUW) seeks Executive Director
Anticipated start date: January 2025
Rice County Area United Way’s mission is to mobilize the resources and caring power of individuals, organizations, and networks to strengthen our community. Founded from the 2019 merger of the United Way of Faribault (originally founded in 1956) and the United Way of Northfield (originally founded in 1972), RCAUW is a stalwart champion for the health, education and financial stability of every person in our community.
During this fiscal year, RCAUW has deployed over $800,000 in resources to the Rice County community in the form of grants awarded, volunteers leveraged, and in-kind contributions made. These resources have impacted an estimated 42,000 people.
RCAUW is seeking a professional with advancement experience to lead these efforts. The executive director will oversee all day-to-day operations of RCAUW, including fundraising efforts, personnel management, and programming, in support of the overall mission and strategic plan. This leader will need to passionately and effectively communicate not only the mission and purpose of RCAUW but also our impact on the individuals within the Rice County community.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee all fundraising and advancement efforts, including the annual residential and workplace campaigns, end of year appeals, grant seeking opportunities, event-based fundraising, and supporter acquisition/cultivation efforts.
- Oversee all grantmaking efforts, from the solicitation of applications and the convening of community allocation and review panels, to the eventual disbursement of funds and subsequent reporting efforts.
- Oversee the management of financial resources, including accurate record keeping, regular reporting, and budgeting.
- Oversee all marketing efforts, including fostering positive relationships with agency partners, businesses leaders, government entities, and current/prospective donors.
- Oversee all RCAUW programming, including Day of Caring, Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, Books on Central, and providing technical assistance to our agency partners.
- Oversee all RCAUW personnel, including all staff, contractors, and volunteers.
- Work closely with the RCAUW board to achieve strategic objectives.
- Serve as an ardent champion for RCAUW’s work and impact within the community.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree; or a comparable combination of experience and education;
- Four (4) or more years of experience in the areas of fundraising, relationship building, leadership or similar, preferably in a nonprofit environment;
- Strong project and team management skills and experience;
- Able to successfully complete background check;

Working Conditions:
- Location: RCAUW operates across Rice County, Minnesota. We maintain an office in Northfield, Minnesota and a storefront in Faribault, Minnesota. Some work may be completed remotely.
- Working Hours: Normal working hours are flexible to meet Executive Director and RCAUW needs. This position may require early morning, late evening and/or weekend work.
- Travel: Some local travel is required to meet with community stakeholders.

Compensation and Benefits:
The salary range for this position is $60,000 - $75,000, depending upon qualifications and experience.
RCAUW is not able to pay relocation expenses.
